Back Yourself

'Back Yourself' è il terzo album solista dell'acclamato cantante/cantautore Ben Salter, dopo 'The Cat' del 2011 e 'The Stars My Destination' del 2015, e il suo secondo album sarà pubblicato tramite ABC Music. L'album è stato realizzato nell'arco di dodici mesi in località della Tasmania e registrato prevalentemente con il produttore Chris Townend (Augie March, Daniel Johns, Tim Finn, Portishead) nel suo studio White Light, situato ai margini della Huon Valley in Tasmania. 'Back Yourself' continua alcune delle preoccupazioni tematiche di Salter - amore, sogni, armageddon, videogiochi; l'oceano e le stelle; l'intersezione tra mito e scienza; e la natura della realtà stessa. "Isolationism" il primo singolo dell'album è stato scritto con il collaboratore di lunga data del Gin Club Conor Macdonald, mentre il brano finale "End Of Days" è stato scritto a Lyttelton con il cantautore e performer neozelandese Marlon Williams. Back Yourself presenta le apparizioni come ospite del noto chitarrista e cantautore australiano Jeff Lang, Peter "Blackie" Black delle leggende underground The Hard Ons, e Something per il batterista Kate Clint Hyndman.
