Star Iron is the new work of In Extremo. The cosmos with its endless vastness, starry images, myths and puzzles inspired In Extremo to her most imaginative and colourful album yet. For this purpose, the band has expanded its musical spectrum with several timbres, it now ranges from melancholic folk and driving rock to martial metal and poetically quiet tones. As for the images of their lyrics, the band not only reaches for the stars such as "Look to the Moon", but also turns to earthly themes such as "Eye for an Eye" and "True Friends". On the occasion of "Star Iron", two long-time friends of the band could not be taken to tune in from full throat. For the song "Invisible," Mille Petrozza, head of Kreator, the country's most important thrash metal band, came into the studio. He sang both single strophe lines and, together with in-ex frontman Micha Rhein, the voluminous refrain. The second guest is also an old acquaintance, "The Count" and In Extremo made friendship before his band Unheilig 2010 cleared almost all national titles and awards that a pop group can win. Never before have he sung on the record of another band, noticed The Graf. For "Get the Stars" he gave himself the honor, sang a complete stanza and the chorus along with Rhine.
