Pianist Herbie Hancock showcased the full breadth of his artistry on his masterful fourth Blue Note album 'Empyrean Isles', recorded in 1964. The album presented four diverse original compositions including the hit song 'Cantaloupe Island' performed by a deeply attuned quartet featuring Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Ron Carter on bass, and Tony Williams on drums.
