Scouted by Chess Records house bassist and producer Willie Dixon at Chicago's legendary Sylvio's Lounge, Dixon provided his new protégé with 'Wang Dang Doodle', a song that would sell more than a million copies and become her signature tune. Drawing heavily from her recent run of hit 45s, Koko Taylorfeatures, in addition to 'Wang Dang Doodle', Dixon-penned classics including 'Twenty-Nine Ways (To My Baby's Door)' and 'Yes, It's Good for You', alongside Taylor's own 'Nitty Gritty', highlighted by Johnny Shines' poignant slide guitar.
