'Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business' marks The Mars Volta's first official live release since 2005's 'Scabdates'. Far from a straightforward live performance of their most recent studio album, 'Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío', this release is a deep reinterpretation of the source material with an added twist: the band's invitation for fans to participate in the album-making process. The project began with a cryptic countdown timer on The Mars Volta's official website, which revealed an interactive voting mechanism allowing fans to choose which live performances would make the cut. Each track was represented by a cryptic symbol corresponding to the city where the performance was recorded during the band's acclaimed fall 2025 tour.
