Die Kammerphilharmonie und Paavo Järvi sind eine Traumkombination, die mit ihren Aufnahmen für das Label RCA von Sony Music weltweit Begeisterung entfachen. Ihre Aufnahme aller Beethoven-Sinfonien hat immer noch Referenz-Charakter. Mit diesem Album beginnen sie eine Neuaufnahme aller "Londoner" Symphonien von Joseph Haydn, zu hören sind die Sinfonien 101 und 103. Beide entstanden im Rahmen von Haydns zweiter Reise nach London. Die Sinfonie 101 trägt den (nachträglich hinzugefügten) Beinamen "Die Uhr", die Sinfonie Nr. 103, seine vorletzte Sinfonie, ist bekannt als die "mit dem Paukenwirbel". Beide sind hier zu hören in einer auch klangtechnisch, im Studio entstandenen, exzellenten Neueinspielung.
