Ignasi Cambra ist von Geburt an blind. Der 1989 in Barcelona geborene Musiker lernt Partituren in der Brailleschrift, inzwischen auch mittels Gehör, studierte an der berühmten Juilliard School in New York (so u. a. beim selben Lehrer wie Igor Levit) und hat bereits eine eindrucksvolle Karriere als Pianist gemacht. So tritt er häufig gemeinsam mit der legendären portugiesischen Pianistin Maria João Pires auf und arbeitet mit vielen international renommierten Orchestern und Dirigenten zusammen. Auf seinem Album "Spaces" widmet sich Ignasi Cambra den vier Impromptus D 899 von Schubert und den vier Impromptus von Chopin, die er mit viel Sensibilität und Subtilität zu Gehör bringt. Als Ergänzung steht noch das Nocturne op. 48 von Chopin auf dem Programm.
