Classical music and jazz enter into a dialogue A musical friendship breaks boundaries - this is how one could describe the extraordinary collaboration between pianist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Charles Herrig and oboist, author, cultural award winner of the city of Aachen and 'oboe doctor' Marc Schaeferdiek. The two musicians come from very different worlds: Herrig lives jazz, free improvisation, and with his "virtuosic piano playing" (RZ Online), seeks to create music from the moment in ever new ways. Schaeferdiek inspires as a studied oboist and professor for oboe playing not only in artistic expression, but also with technical finesse and sound perfection; among others, for the "WDR Rundfunksinfonieorchester Köln" and songwriter Reinhard Mey. The personal and musical friendship resulted in the project: Pianoreed - a classic friendship. The press reviews: "When Marc Schaeferdiek and Charles Herrig enter into musical dialogue, it is surprising and stirring at the same time." (RZ Online) After their debut at the renowned Konz Musik Festival and further, successful concerts, the duo Pianoreed now releases their first recording: "THE LIVING ROOM CONCERT". Recorded live at both musicians' favorite concert hall, a personal place full of sonic warmth and with the authentic, lively atmosphere of a private living room.
