Pissed Jeans machen schon seit 13 Jahren Musik und kehren jetzt mit ihrem fünften Album "Why Love Now" zurück. Die Band aus Philadelphia nimmt sich darauf den alltäglichen Unannehmlichkeiten des modernen Lebens an - von Fetisch-Webcams bis Lieferungen von Bürobedarf. Pissed Jeans verschmelzen Punk und Noise mit einem erfrischenden Scharfsinn. Das macht ihr Album zu einem Ventil für eine Welt, in der sich Absurdität in einem konstanten Kampf selbst zu übertreffen scheint.

"Why Love Now" zieht an den aufplatzenden Nähten, die das Leben im 21. Jahrhundert mühsam zusammenhalten. Die No Wave Legende Lydia Lunch kam in Philadelphia vorbei, um das Album zusammen mit Arthur Rizk zu produzieren. ,I knew she wasn't a traditional producer. We wanted to mix it up a little bit. I like how she's so cool and really intimidating. I didn't know how it was going to work out. She ended up being so fucking awesome and crazy. She was super into it, constantly threatening to bend us over the bathtub. I'm not really sure what that entails, but I know she probably wasn't joking," sagt Korvette über die Zusammenarbeit mit Lunch.
