In the 1st movements & most of the finales of these works, Vivaldi adopts a form related to the so called ritornello, sort of recurring them with contrasting interludes so familiar in the fast movements of his more famous solo concerti. The main difference is that there is here much less episodic writing, hence a tauter construction & more consistenly symphonic manner of developing material.
