Ianara George and Greg Kurstin, alias the bird and the bee, are an army of two They listen to everything, and answer to no one. Over the course of 3 years, they whiled away scattered afternoons in Greg's home studio in Echo Park, sequestered in a title world of their own making, creating sunshine-drenched, semi-psychedelic ditties. ''Again and Again,'' is a summery concoction that evokes Los Angeles at its most optimistic. The layered vocals of ''I'm a Broken Heart'' echo the classic sound of an early Phil Spector production or the vocal harmonies of The Association, while ''F-cking Boyfriend'' has an quirky effervescence that transforms the dagger-wielding lyrics of unrequited love into an infectious sing-along confection.
