Madonna hat ihr mit Spannung erwartetes neues Album Confessions II angekündigt, das am 3. Juli über Warner Records erscheint. Das neue Album knüpft direkt an den ikonischen Vorgänger „Confessions on a Dance Floor” (2005, Platz 1 und 3× Platin in Deutschland) an und führt dessen Idee konsequent weiter. Madonna bringt die Haltung hinter dem neuen Werk selbst auf den Punkt, indem sie die ersten Zeilen ihres Songs One Step Away zitiert: „People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language.“ Sie ergänzt: „Als Stuart Price und ich begonnen haben, an diesem Album zu arbeiten, war das unser Manifest“: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we've been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect —with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It's about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.
