Brian Baumbusch: Chemistry for Gamelan and String Quartet

`Chemistry for Gamelan and String Quartet' is het hoogtepunt van een langdurige samenwerking tussen het JACK Quartet en componist en instrumentenbouwer Brian Baumbusch (1987). In de afgelopen tien jaar heeft Baumbusch twee afzonderlijke sets "Amerikaanse gamelan"-instrumenten ontworpen en gebouwd. Zij zijn gebaseerd op verschillende instrumenten uit de Balinese gamelan-traditie, maar wijken af van de Indonesische tradities door hun unieke stemming.
