Yehudi Menuhin (1916 - 1999) was one of the most famous violin virtuosos of the 20th century. As a wunderkind at age 12, he performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Bruno Walter - and played the violin concertos by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms - in one night!!! With his Stradivari, Menuhin was THE violinist. These recordings go back to 1949 and 1951 and show him at the very height of his art. Great sound quality! Also performing: The Orchestre de Festival Lucerne, directed by Wilhelm Furtwängler!
