Leider reichen seine Fähigkeiten nur dazu aus, farblose Vorträge von 13 mit Sinatra assoziierten Standards zu streicher- und bläserlastigen Arrangements von höchstens karaokewürdiger Qualität zum Besten zu geben. Es überrascht nicht, dass reichlich wenig davon auf das Improvisationsgespür und den versteckten Humor des großen "Chairman" hinweist, die seine größten Erfolge kennzeichnen. Und je weniger Worte man über Manilows schwache Kadenzen verliert, desto besser. Er hat bereits in der Vergangenheit schlechte Hommagen geliefert; diese jedoch grenzt schon an Beleidigung. --Rickey Wright
