Two CD set featuring 35 of the duo's greatest recordings in one package. The Blues Brothers originally began as a Saturday Night Live-only performance featuring two of the shows' main players: John Belushi and Dan Akroyd. They proved to be so popular that they eventually released a handful of albums plus filmed the immortal Blues Brothers movie, only coming to an abrupt end when Belushi died in early 1982. All of the unique tracks from their albums are featured on these two CDs, pulled from The Blues Brothers Original Soundtrack, the Definitive Collection and the Best of The Blues Brothers. Includes 'Soul Man', 'Rubber Biscuit', 'She Caught the Katy', 'Peter Gunn Theme', 'Everybody Needs Somebody' and 'Gimme Some Lovin'. Man wird mit der Zeit wohl anspruchsvoller: Recht dürftig klingen die Original-Blues Brothers-Nummern dieser CD-Ausgabe. So muffig tönen die einstigen R & B-Reißer, daß man sich - mit Ausnahmen wie Aretha Franklins "Think" - fast fragt, was man eigentlich damals so toll daran fand. Doch bereits die Vinyl-Fassungen waren tontechnische Katastrophen - eben Film-Originale, die vor allem mit Bildern wirken mußten; ohne die Unterstützung durch die Leinwand wirken die Songs heute eher antiquiert. ** Musik: 03-04 ** Klang: 02-03
