With the second most subscribed artist channel of all time on YouTube, the star of Disney’s ‘Camp Rock’ (along with the Jonas Brothers) and the Disney channel series ‘As The Bell Rings’, Demi Lovato this spring is ready to unleash her inner-rocker girl on the UK. ‘Don’t Forget’, the debut release from the Californian 16-year-old singer/actress, will be released on April 20th through Hollywood/Fascination Records. The record has already shifted over 350,000 copies in the US, entering the Billboard album charts at #2 and iTunes pop chart at #1. Produced by Jon Fields, Demi has teamed up with the Jonas Brothers to co-write and co-produce several of the tracks on the album. It was a natural collaboration, since Demi counts Nick, Joe and Kevin among her best friends. The Brothers’ natural feel for hook-laden rock helped Demi deliver on her vision. “If I were to write the album by myself it would probably have been a little more serious,” she notes. “But I didn’t want that. I wanted a fun album.”Demi’s debut album certainly delivers fun as well as full-out rockers like her first UK single ‘La La Land’ (which is released June 1st), a witty take on SoCal life and all its pretence. Other great rock tracks like ‘Get Back’, ‘Gonna Get Caught’ and ‘Party’ make a nice contrast to the sweeping ballads on the album such as ‘Two Worlds’ and ‘Believe in Me’. Demi’s vulnerable side comes through on ‘Until You’re Mine’ and the title track ‘Don’t Forget’ a touching ballad about a faltering relationship. She explores similar territory on ‘On the Line’ an up-tempo duet she co-wrote and sings with the Jonas Brothers.Having already opened for the Jonas Brothers on their sold-out ‘Burnin Up’ 2008 tour - wowing critics and fans alike with her musical abilities on the piano and guitar, Demi will be back this June supporting the Brothers at their sold out Wembley Arena show.Demi’s television show ‘Sonny With A Chance’ also premieres on the Disney Channel in May/June in the UK.
