Against the spectactular backdrop of Scotland's top tourist attraction ober 1,000 performers, 35 Zulu warriors, 40 fiddlers, 45 steel drummers, along with one or two surprises, delivered the richest of entertainment at this year's Homecoming-themed 65th Tattoo on the floodlit esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. 220,000 visitors were thrilled by the multinational extravaganza. The 2014 theme. 'Our Home, Friend and Family' conveyed the notion of travel, which since the beginning of time had fired the emotions. The lure of faraway places. The adventure into the unknown. And the joy of reunion. From the Northern Lights to the South Pacific, from Nagaland, India's final frontier to Australasia, the West Indies, South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal and beyond, performers returned in triumph to the heartland of the mountain and the flood.
