Verdi: Il Trovatore

Marco Armiliato conducts the Met in this version of Giuseppe Verdi's opera. The Count Di Luna still harbours hopes that his younger brother may be alive, despite the fact that he has been missing and presumed dead for a number of years. When the Count sets out to court the beautiful Leonora, he is enraged to learn that she already has a lover - the troubadour, Manrico. The Count challenges Manrico to a duel, but will the rivals discover unexpected common ground when they meet face-to-face? Marcelo Alvarez stars.
