The inimitable Joe Brown, UK guitar pioneer and rock legend, celebrates his 50th anniversary in the business this year. And he’s still touring, still working and still releasing new material.Incredibly, it’s been half a century (and he still looks the same) since Joe first trod the boards performing in the early days with the likes of Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Johnnie Cash and Billy Fury. To celebrate this significant achievement Joe releases a new album on 18th February. Out on Universal Music TV it is titled, appropriately enough, “The Very Best Of Joe Brown” and will be TV advertised.“The Very Best Of” features 25 tracks in total ranging from the very early hits such as “What A Crazy World”, “That’s What Love Will Do”, “Picture Of You” and “Sea Of Heartbreak” right through to recent years with Bob Dylan’s “Well Well Well”, “Reuben” and “One Trick Pony””. It also includes “I’ll See You In My Dreams”, one of the numbers Joe performed at the George Harrison Tribute Concert which closed the show and brought the house down.In last week's chart Billy Fury's album charted at #15 indicating a strong market for albums in this demographic.
