'Strong Reaction' is stark, utilitarian, and chiseled to the bone. The album opens with the title track, a chugging engine of black riffs fueled by a monstrous sense of loss. Introspective without being whiny (it's hard to imagine Damore, a veritable meatpacker of a man, whining about anything). Originally released in 1991, 'Strong Reaction' shows the band both fine tuning their considerable grasp on hard charging melodic punk on songs like 'Superstar' and 'What to Do' and branching into a toe crunching instrumental like 'Locuomotivelung', that's what Slayer would sound like if they got haircuts and jobs.
