Georges Bizet: Symphony in C/Jeux D'enfants/...

De muziek van Bizet doet denken aan Beethoven, vooral de hier gespeelde Symfonie in C. Het Jeux d'Enfants, eigenlijk voor vierhandig piano, is pure balletmuziek en wordt hier door het San Francisco Ballet Orchestra in een orkestratie met verve gespeeld. De benen komen vanzelf van de vloer. Ook de Variations Chromatiques is een pianowerk, georkestreerd door Felix Weingartner. Met een orkest kun je de verschillende variaties meer kleur geven door het gebruik van diverse instrumenten. De opname is zeer doorzichtig en prachtig zoals we van Reference Recordings gewend zijn.
