After several recordings for the Takoma label, Robbie Basho released two albums for Vanguard. The Voice Of The Eagle was released in 1972, while 1974 s Zarthus is due for reissue later in the year by Ace. As the title implies, this album is one of Basho s vocal works and is dedicated to Meher Baba and the American Indian. His operatic and vibrato-laden style can be an acquired taste but this album is highly-rated and much sought after by his fans. The fold-out poster booklet features the original album artwork. Newly re-mastered from the original tapes.
