Les San Culottes (which translates to 'those without undergarments') borrowed their name from the 'ill-clad and ill-equipped volunteers of the French Revolutionary Army'. Having wowed numerous left-leaning French intellectual cultural critics in the boites of St. Germain-Des- Pres,Les San Culottes brought their unfiltered swagger to New York City in 1996. Leader Clermont Ferrand,after several incarnations,finally locked down the lineup with sexy chanteuses Kit Kat Le Noir and Celine Dijon,Jean Luc Retard on bass,Pascal Blase on drums,Morris Chevrolet on keyboards,and Cal D'Hommage on Guitar. "Faux Realism" is their latest album of 60's French influenced 'Ye-Ye' pop filtered through their own attitude-drenched garage-pop sensibility.
