Maroon Town was perhaps one of the most interesting bands of the late 1980s UK Ska revival.Their first album 'High And Dry' from 1989 was produced by John Bradbury of The Specials,but the band successfully managed not to be just another ska band. Over the years the bandexplored the musical boundaries of the ska genre and sought crossovers with hip hop, jazz andfunk. Also lyrically the band managed to stand out with lyrics about social and political issues.The A-side 'Goodbye To The Empire' originally appeared on their 1989 'Pound To The Dollar'12" while the B-side, 'Nostalgia' appeared on their debut album in the same year. The A-sidebecame an absolute cult hit over the years, and by repeated request from the DJ circuit, thesong is now being released in the handier 7" format for the first time.The 7" single comes in a spined picture sleeve. Both songs were remastered for vinyl.
