DESCRIPTION
The fifteenth studio album released by Diana Ross & the Supremes for the Motown label, Love Child (1968) was the group’s first studio LP (excepting covers and tribute albums) not to include any songs written or produced by any member of the Holland–Dozier–Holland production team, who had previously overseen most of the Supremes’ releases. The hit single “Love Child” returned the Supremes to the Billboard Hot 100’s number-one position. Love Child shows a markedly different sound for The Supremes, eschewing the soul-pop sound for a more distinct, personal sound and lyrics. The album is considered one of the most mature in their vast body of work and received a ★★★★ rating on AllMusic, with Jason Elias stating that the album “offers the late-’60s Motown sound without gimmicks and is more than recommended.” INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL COVER AND BACK COVER ARTWORK 140 GRAM HIGH QUALITY VIRGIN VINYL LIMITED EDITION Elemental Music
