Bij muzikanten en critici is de Amerikaanse jazzgitarist Dave Stryker een hogelijk gewaardeerde muzikant, Downbeat benoemde hem in 2007 zelfs tot Rising Star. Hij werd ontdekt door jazzorganist Brother Jack McDuff en speelde jaren bij tenorsaxofonist Stanley Turrentine. Stryker heeft een prachtig soulful bluesgevoel in zijn spel. Tip voor de liefhebber van gitaristen als Wes Montgomery, Freddie King of John Scofield.
