2014 remastered 36 track collection, with 15 tracks previously unavailable on CD. This is the only authorized Deesu collection available. Includes liner notes by R&B historian Bill Dahl. Allen Toussaint's talents appeared infinite during the 1960s (and indeed, to this day). He wrote, arranged, produced, and played singular piano on many of the rhythm and blues hits that emanated from New Orleans, transforming the definition of his hometown's R&B with his vision. After perfecting his behind-the-board techniques at Joe Banashak and Larry McKinley's Minit imprint as its young A&R man and resident creative genius (as well as Banashak's other labels), Toussaint and business partner Marshall E. Sehorn launched their own Sansu and Deesu imprints midway through the decade. "The first time I had an encounter with Marshall, he came to New Orleans and had me to produce a session on Bobby Marchan, a song called 'Booty Green.'
