Don Quixote vergötterte einst ein Vollweib namens Dulcinea. Die vier Jungs von Toad The Wet Sprocket halten es lieber mit der Realität: Ihren Song Nanci widmeten sie dem Country-Girl Nanci Griffith. Doch deshalb sind die Aufsteiger aus Kalifornien noch keine verbohrten Hillbillies: Ihr bunten Songs kommen mit viel Folkpop-Feeling daher. Manchmal sind aber auch dunkle Wolken im Spiel - zum Beispiel in Begin, das den Tod des Vaters aus der Sicht einen Mädchens beschreibt. Eine schöne Scheibe zwischen R.E.M. und Crowded House.
