Desdemona, una tormentata DJ, conduce un programma radio notturno intitolato "L'insonne". I suoi ascoltatori sono spesso bizzarri abitanti della notte che condividono le loro storie e le loro paure. Questa volta, tuttavia, riceve una chiamata da Luca, un bambino che si trova in una stanza d'ospedale. Nella sua voce, Desdemona percepisce un'ombra di inquietudine.
