Indie-rock band Turnover, originally from Virginia, has never been afraid to tell the truth. The emotional honesty poured out on their albums proved to be a hit formula for the band, but on their second album Peripheral Vision, the band sinks into deeper waters. Working again with Magnolia producer Will Yip (Title Fight, Circa Survive), Peripheral Vision shows a band maturing: an ethereal soundscape, steeped in reverb, blending elements of misty dream pop and delicate emo rock of yesteryear. Songs like "Hello Euphoria" and "Like Slow Disappearing" highlight the calmer, more hushed approach to writing, matched with Austin Getz's dark, confessional lyrics that resonate throughout the songs as if his words haunted every measure of it.
