Music Making in Chicago 1928-1935

Tampa Red behoort net als Elmore James, Muddy Waters en Robert Johnson tot een zeer select groepje invloedrijke slide-gitaristen. In zijn hoogtijdagen (de jaren 20 en 30) stond hij bekend als The Guitar Wizard. In 1928 ging hij samen met Georgia Tom opnemen en een van hun eerste songs samen Its Tight Like That werd een grote hit. Hun kracht lag echter niet in hokumsongs als deze, maar in hoge kwaliteit Chicago-blues. In 1932 ging Georgia Tom solo verder als Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey en werd een grote naam in de gospelwereld. De laatste van de 4 cds dan ook geheel gewijd aan Tampa Red alleen. Deze vier-cd-set bevat zeldzame opnames van dit duo uit de periode 28-35.
