EDITORIAL REVIEWS
Cabum and Beat Records are proud to present, almost forty years after the theatrical release of the film, the wonderful score by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis for the post-apocalyptic movie 2019 dopo la caduta di New York, directed in 1983 by Sergio Martino and starring Michael Sopkiw, George Eastman, Anna Kanakis and Valentine Monnier. In a post-apocalyptic future, we have two enemy factionsthe Euraks and the Federationfighting for dominance, and a solitary warrior is sent by the Federation to New York to retrieve the last fertile woman on Earth. Still enjoying a immense fan base, 2019 dopo la caduta di New York is considered one of the best movies of its genre, which was very popular in the '80s and most certainly influenced by some of the cult-classic American movies that were so prolific at the time. The score by the De Angelis bros. was one of the most sought-after by their fans and film music lovers and represents, like Alien 2 sulla terra, a wonderful stylistic exercise by the two Maestros, chiseling a soundtrack that could be defined as the Italian reply to Carpenter's style. Cabum and Beat Records, thanks to the discovery of the original recording sessions in the archive of the brothers' label, are finally able to offer the complete score on CD. The cover features the original poster artwork painted by Renato Casaro, with mastering by Enrico De Gemini, graphic layout and 12-page booklet designed by Daniele De Gemini and liner notes by Manuel Cavenaghi (edited in English by Josh Mitchell), one of our friends from Bloodbuster and author of an essay entitled "2019. Dopo la caduta di New York di Sergio Martino.".
