Feature-length Japanese anime based on the manga by Sui Ishida. Shy boy Kaneki Ken (voice of Masataka Kubota) thinks his luck has come in when he gets a date with popular girl Kamishiro Raze (Yû Aoi). His luck changes very quickly however, as when they are in a quiet, secluded park Kamishiro attacks Kaneki and eats his flesh. As Kaneki comes to terms with the fact that he is now also a flesh-eating ghoul, he tries to make his way in the world and befriends a group of peaceful ghouls with whom he attempts to live a normal life.
