E-Commerce Product Manager

An exciting opportunity to join a growing online retailer with over two million products across entertainment and home. Reporting directly to the Head of Ecommerce, you'll lead our Product Team, ensuring our catalogue remains accurate, commercially effective and easy for customers to shop.

This is a hands-on management role combining merchandising, product data, website optimisation and team leadership. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the product function, acting as the first point of escalation for website and catalogue issues while supporting the development of a growing team.

As the business continues to expand, you'll help shape how new product categories are introduced and play a key role in building the team around them.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Manage and support two Product Coordinators and an Ecommerce Assistant.
  • Prioritise workloads across the team, ensuring product launches and merchandising tasks are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Coach and develop team members through regular feedback and training.
  • Recruit and onboard additional team members as the business grows.

Product & Catalogue Management

  • Maintain catalogue quality across multiple departments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product data, taxonomy and customer navigation.
  • Resolve data inconsistencies and investigate feed or supplier issues.
  • Ensure new products are launched with accurate and engaging content.

Merchandising & Website Optimisation

  • Oversee category merchandising to maximise discoverability and conversion.
  • Review category structures and customer journeys.
  • Monitor merchandising performance and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with Marketing on seasonal campaigns, launches and promotional activity.

Website Operations

  • Act as first point of escalation for day-to-day website issues.
  • Investigate and resolve merchandising, product and operational issues.
  • Liaise with developers and third-party partners where technical fixes are required.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement longer-term improvements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Review processes and identify efficiencies across the product function.
  • Support ongoing development of internal systems and ecommerce tools.
  • Help define standards for catalogue quality and merchandising best practice.
  • Contribute ideas that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.


Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in ecommerce, online retail or digital merchandising.
  • Experience managing or mentoring others.
  • Strong understanding of product data and catalogue management.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with an eye for customer experience.
  • Comfortable analysing data and identifying trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable

  • Shopify or similar ecommerce platform.
  • Experience managing large product catalogues.
  • Knowledge of product feeds or supplier data.
  • Experience working with entertainment, publishing or retail products.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar reporting tools.


Job Details:

Full-time, Office-based, Permanent position (Monday-Friday 09:00-17:30)

Location: Chiswick, London

Salary: Dependent on experience (£37-42k)
