The front of each card outlines a pigment’s history – its discovery or invention, production and usage – with a swatch. The back features a notable work from the history of art that prominently features it. The 52 pigments have been carefully selected from across all cultures and eras and will demystify the extensive ranges of oil paints on offer today.
