Voodoo Stomp/Iikimochi

Finally a new sign of life from the popular Japanese garage / beat / surf'n'roll trios - two songs as 7' vinyl on SOUNDFLAT. THE MINNESOTA VOODOO MEN has been around since 1998, when they met in Tachikawa near Fussa, the capital of garage group sound in Japan. Since then, the musicians have not only developed a unique and absolutely fantastic lofi garage surf beat sound, but also gained a reputation as an incredible live act. The trio has already toured through Japan and Europe several times, and let fans experience the crazy but stylish 'Merseybeatle' and singer RINGO, the wild drummer PETE and, last but not least, the crazy guitarist Fabian up close, who plays his guitar in a virtuoso way while hanging upside down from the ceiling. After first releases on Japanese labels and their two LPs ('s/t' and 'Shake Your Mind') and most recently their EP ('Don't Come Around') on SOUNDFLAT, the brand new 7' single 'Voodoo Stomp' has been their first release since 2012 - and the wait has been worth it. The title song 'Voodoo Stomp' is an extremely catchy, cool 60's beat song, while on the B-side a live recording of 'Iikimochi', a slightly quieter ballad can be found. Both pieces have Japanese vocals and of course the raw 'voodoom sound', which you simply have to love thanks to RINGO's scratchy voice, FABIAN's wild guitar and PETE's stomping beat.
