From all manner of mini Motowns we've uncovered soul, R&B, funk, disco, boogie, and by nature of proximity - gospel. Previous examinations of the Revival and Big Mack labels turned up more than a few new apocryphal hymns, and 'Great Lakes Gospel Vol. 2' compiles a dozen curious church groups devotionally reaching towards the genre's frayed edge.
