DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present to present the first two EPs of Spain’s WHISPER, Whisper and Liminal Spaces, on CD and vinyl LP formats. Hailing from Spain, WHISPER was born in 2022 as drummer José Vicente Aldeguer (IRON CURTAIN, Phantom Spell, War Dogs, Chantrice) started recording some ideas for a potential new project. After having three songs and a cover ready, WHISPER’s self-titled first EP was released digitally in 2023, receiving pretty good reviews from national and international media. In January of the next year, the project performed its first live show, presenting also a new song off the upcoming EP, Liminal Spaces. With this stage experience established, Aldeguer pursued WHISPER as a fully-solo endeavor in the studio, recording everything himself. Suitably impressed by Whisper, DYING VICTIMS now joins the three original tracks from that EP with the two new tracks on Liminal Spaces, all remixed & remastered. Totaling 40 minutes, WHISPER’s two EPs provide a mystical, magickal landscape for adventurous listeners to freely roam. The band’s base foundation is indeed prog and traditional metal – going from Diamond Head and Iron Maiden to Blue Öyster Cult and Asia, Demon and Mercyful Fate to even Opeth and Hallas – but with especial emphasis on cleaner-toned melodies and spacey vintage synths, Whisper / Liminal Spaces works its spell immediately even as the prodigous chops and epic song structures dazzle the senses. Proving that the best is yet to come, WHISPER conclude the collection with the selfsame “The Whisper,” a 12-minute journey to splendorous, awe-inspiring locales…the destination is fully within the imagination! Die aus Spanien stammende Band WHISPER entstand im Jahr 2022, als Schlagzeuger José Vicente Aldeguer (IRON CURTAIN, Phantom Spell, War Dogs, Chantrice) begann, einige Ideen für ein mögliches neues Projekt aufzunehmen. Nachdem drei Songs und ein Cover fertig waren, erschien die selbstbetitelte erste EP von WHISPER im Jahr 2023 digital und erhielt recht gute Kritiken von nationalen und internationalen Medien. Im Januar des folgenden Jahres gab das Projekt sein erstes Live-Konzert und präsentierte dabei auch einen neuen Song von der kommenden EP „Liminal Spaces“. Mit dieser Bühnenerfahrung im Rücken führte Aldeguer WHISPER im Studio als reines Soloprojekt weiter und nahm alles selbst auf. Beeindruckt von „Whisper“ ergänzen DYING VICTIMS nun die drei Original-Tracks dieser EP um die beiden neuen Stücke auf „Liminal Spaces“, die alle neu abgemischt und remastered wurden. Mit einer Gesamtlaufzeit von 40 Minuten bieten die beiden EPs von WHISPER eine mystische, magische Landschaft, durch die abenteuerlustige Hörer frei streifen können. Die musikalische Basis der Band liegt zweifellos im Prog- und traditionellen Metal – von Diamond Head und Iron Maiden über Blue Öyster Cult und Asia, Demon und Mercyful Fate bis hin zu Opeth und Hallas – doch mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf klareren Melodien und verträumten Vintage-Synthesizern entfaltet „Whisper / Liminal Spaces“ sofort seinen Zauber, während die beeindruckende Technik und die epischen Songstrukturen die Sinne verzaubern. Als Beweis dafür, dass das Beste noch bevorsteht, beschließen WHISPER die Sammlung mit eben jenem „The Whisper“, einer 12-minütigen Reise zu prächtigen, Ehrfurcht einflößenden Schauplätzen … das Ziel liegt ganz in der Fantasie!
