After a disappointing season both domestically and in Europe, Louis van Gaal was replaced as the manager of Manchester United by José Mourinho. Despite struggling to mount an effective title challenge and ultimately finishing sixth in the Premier League, the new season still proved to be a successful one for the Red Devils as they won the EFL Cup as well as the Europa League for the first time, joining an elite list of teams that have won each of Europe's top three competitions.
