We explore their everyday lives: how they washed, ate and made a living; and also how the behaviour of those who ruled the land affected them. One thing for sure, life for the common people wastough!

In each episode we journey to a momentous period in British history (Tudors, Industrial Revolution, Victorians, and World War II), and see what life was like for the ordinary people from those times.
