Never Look Away

Max Richter's score to the 2018 German drama film, directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. The film revolves around young artist, Kurt Barnert (Tom Schilling), who has fled to West-Germany, but continues to be tormented by the experiences of his childhood and youth during the Nazi years and the GDR-regime. When he meets the student Ellie (Paula Beer), he is convinced that he has met the love of his life and begins to create paintings that mirror not only his own fate, but also the traumas of an entire generation.
