Dr Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed), who works at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is sent to her hometown of Marais, Louisiana to investigate reports of a deadly virus spreading throughout the town. Working with scientist Alec Holland (Andy Bean), Arcane discovers an unknown mutagen accelerator in a nearby swamp. However, the mystery deepens when Alec is attacked and reborn as plant-based monster Swamp Thing (Derek Mears).
