The Allen Brothers and Other Country Brother Acts

De Allen Brothers behoorden tot de eerste broer-duos die in de jaren 20 en 30 populair werden. Ze hadden als bijnaam de Chattanooga Boys en stonden bekend om hun up-tempo blues en old-timey muziek. Ze waren succesvoller dan menig ander duo uit die periode. Hun teksten waren op zijn zachtst gezegd dubbelzinnig, hetgeen samen met hun droge humor en het bijzondere kazoospel van Lee Allen bijdroeg aan de populariteit. Tussen 1926 en 1934 scoorden ze diverse hits. Op drie cds vinden we het - uitstekend geremasterde - werk van de broers, cd 4 is gevuld met andere broergroepen. Niet te missen voor liefhebbers van het authentieke hillbillywerk.
