Best known for writing the worldwide hit 'Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ for Simple Minds, Forsey built a career that spanned disco, synth pop and soundtracks. London born, he started out as a session drummer before settling in Munich, where he became a key figure at Moroder’s Musicland Studios. Their partnership began with 1971’s Son Of My Father, and throughout the 70s Forsey became the studio’s driving rhythmic force. His punchy, metronomic kick drum powered Donna Summer’s ground-breaking ‘I Feel Love.’ He also co-wrote’ Hot Stuff,’ Summer’s US Billboard No. 1 smash. Beyond disco, Forsey would go on to work with artists including Billy Idol and contribute to other major film soundtracks like Beverly Hills Cop, Flashdance and The Breakfast Club. Released at the height of his studio success, Dynamite showcases the full range of his musicianship combined with the talents of guitarists Larry Carlton, Steve Lukether (Toto) and Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter (Steely Dan & The Doobie Brothers) From the driving 'Take Me To The Pilot' to the guitar-led 'Seventeen' and the shimmering ‘Thin Ice,’ the album blends disco precision with rock energy and sharp pop songwriting. Dynamite remains a rare spotlight on one of the era’s most influential behind-the-scenes hitmakers.
