Monkey Paw soon became one the most popular bands on the LA circuit. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1994 and helped create Cravedog Records with founding owner Todd Crosby. Cravedog Records was one of Portland's first nationally recognized labels along with the now defunct Cavity Search. In 1996 Fernando recorded and released the dark folk album \"Season in Hell\"(out of print). Accompanied by Dan Eccles on guitar( Richmond Fontaine) and Jillian Weisneck (Gern Blanston) on Cello, fernando and co. Managed to create a claustrophic world that still bleeds with every listen. In 1997 Fernando released his country-blues opus \"Widows\" which featured new members Clayton Jones on drums, Joe Chiusano on bass, and Merilee Horde (Golden Delicious, Little Sue) on Fiddle. This album is very reminiscent of John Prine's ultra raw masterpiece \"Pink Cadillac\".
