Of course, the quality of the music is first-rate any way you slice it. Most noteworthy here is the inclusion of four previously unreleased cuts featuring Odetta in a rare jazzy setting backed by a piano trio. One of those tunes, the brooding \"Fare-thee-well,\" must surely rank as one of her most evocative readings. These four piano-backed songs augment four other tunes, presumably from the same early-1960s piano session, that first appeared on the Best of collection last year.
