After losing her job, her flat and her boyfriend in the city, Ava Campbell is in crisis.

Heartbroken and broke-broken, Ava impulsively decides to move to Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands to open a bookshop. There, she discovers she's not the only one who's hurting - and maybe the bookshop can help. Ava opens her doors to form the village's first breakup support group, which turns out to be a surprise hit with the locals.

But not all her new neighbours are so thrilled. Rory MacGregor, the annoyingly handsome owner of the next-door DIY shop, doesn't think Ava or her bookshop will last the season.
